WHAT IT'S ABOUT

What is a
  Time Bank?

A time bank is a way for people to share skills with other in their local community and be rewarded for it - in time.

For every hour of time you give providing a service for another member, you receive one credit.

West Euston

Time Bank will...

  • We will open an account for you

  • Your hours will be recorded

  • You will receive a regular statement of the time you have given and receive.

As a Time Bank

 member you  give….

  • A few hours of your spare time when you want to, doing the things you enjoy

  • You receive the opportunity to get some help for yourself, if you need it

  • The satisfaction of making the quality of life better for someone else.

  • You can give twice by donating your credits to someone who needs them more than you do.

How do you Earn

& Spend Time

 Credits?

  • You can earn time credits by providing a service for another member or alternatively you can attend workshops and spend time credits for participating.

  • You can also earn time credits if you would like to run your
own workshop for the community, providing yourself with recognised work experience.

  • You can spend your credits receiving a computer lesson or having some light chores done.

  • You can spend your credits on a course related to  your work to help gain employment.

  • You can save your credits for when you might need them or donate them to someone who may not be able to do so.

  • You can earn and spend your credits in the Time Bank Community Cafe.

Like many organisations in the voluntary sector it is our policy to meet with you for an informal chat before you sign up to be a time bank member.

If you decide to become a member we then require two references from people who know you very well (not family). It can be your present/past employer, doctor, apartment warden, religious preacher etc). Again, if you have further queries we can discuss it in our introductory chat!
