The West Euston Time Bank

BLACK HISTORY MONTH OCTOBER 2005

‘POETRY FOR ALL’

To celebrate Camden Black History Month and share African and Caribbean history West Euston Time Bank held two poetry events.

Renowned poet David Neita who is dedicated to positive social change hosted both the events.   His efforts were greatly appreciated by all and Time Bank say a huge thanks!

The first event took place at Regents Park Library on Saturday 15th October 2005and was aimed at children.  David read out African children tales and orchestrated the children (and a few parents!) to read out Nelson Mandela’s famous freedom speech. West Euston Time Bank would also like to say a special thanks to the library staff who were very supportive.

The second poetry event was held at The Crypt Centre in Munster Square on Friday 27th October and the poetry had a more adult feel to it. However, there were plenty of activities to keep the children amused! Vibrant and delicious African Caribbean food was on the menu. Members of Time Bank worked very hard to produce such high quality food and a special mention to time bank members Patsy Futatsugi and Bridget Walsh for all their hard work in the kitchen on that day.
